One of the gadgets that was bestowed upon my for Christmas is an LED belt buckle from thinkgeek.com. You can program up to 6 different messages, and, although the task may be quite arduous, the result is surprisingly awesome. The red one (mine!) is $19.99, but, if red seems boring and unoriginal to you, coughing up $24.99 will get you the blue one. Not only did I get a belt buckle from ThinkGeek, a catalog of all their geeky gadgets was included in the box. One thing I noticed in their catalog is a USB 8gb flash drive lighter for $50 which obviously would be a good economical decision to buy.

For those of you who have jailbroken your iPhone, I made this cool “BlueFade” dock, and I thought you’d like to see it in action (above) before using it. You can add it to a current Winterboard theme, or make it a standalone dock via an SSH client. If you don’t know how to do this, you need WinSCP (for Windows), and you can read Planet-iPhones’ tutorial on where to put the 320 X 91 “dock.png” image.

Magpul Industries revealed the FMG-9 at the Shotshow 2008, and I must admit that I want it for Christmas. The FMG-9 is a bulky flashlight at first glance, but if you need to get down to business, you fold it out into a machine gun. You can even take off the flashlight attachment and stick the folding machine gun into your back pocket. The sad part is that Magpul Industries isn’t going to mass produce this gun….

ASUS has manufactured a $1599 laptop that, when unboxed, will release a pine scent. Apparently the scent doesn’t last long, because after a few hours, apparently you can’t really smell the pine…. Unfortunately, the ASUS F6V can’t be refilled, but there is a notice within the box explaining the scent; it reads as follows:

Infused Scent Notice


1. The scent-infused Notebook PC models gently diffuse scent into the surroundings
when exposed to air. It is normal that the fragrance may fade after a period of time.

2. Using the scent-infused Notebook PC in open space frequently
may shorten the fragrance lifespan. To restore the scent and prolong its lifespan,
 you may place the Notebook PC in a carrying bag when not in use.

3. The lifespan of the scent differs based on the actual usage of the Notebook PC,
and the infused scent is not covered under warranty.

As you can see from the picture, it’s pretty dern slick. I’m not going to pick up one of these any time soon, but, if pine scent is your cat’s meow of a laptop, this is for you. So what if it’s $1599?

For those of you who have been waiting eagerly to unlock your shiny 3G iPhones, it looks like this’ll be a late Christmas present for you. The iPhone Dev-Team has completed the 3G iPhone unlock, and plans to release it on New Year’s Eve, 2008. According to the Dev-Team, this will only work on “2.11.07 baseband or earlier”, and you must have a jailbroken iPhone to do it.

So keep in mind that if you’re a potential unlocker, even after you’re through with ripping wrapping paper off gifts, in a few days you’ll have another treat.

Have you ever wanted to screw up someone’s webpage without doing some serious hacking that takes months to learn? Well, I can’t really help you with that problem, but, I can tell you how to edit anything on a page by dragging the following code to your bookmarks, and then clicking the bookmarklet when your want to mess with a page:

I am sitting at my computer desk, telling you that, as of tonight, iTunes users are unable to login to their iTunes accounts…. I don’t know what’s up with Apple, but hopefully they’ll fix this.

UPDATE: It started working again! :)

The rumor of there being a $99 4GB iPhone has been confirmed to be false by multiple sources, however; there will most probably be a $2 price drop on the iPhone when it is sold at Wal-Mart….

Boygeniusreport.com apperently got a tip that Wal-Mart might sell a $99 4GB iPhone…. With a 2-year contract, of course, but BGR warns readers: “We’re not putting our stamp of approval behind this one….”

A hundred bucks is cheap, and I think 4 gigabytes (hardly anything after formatted) of space would definitely be worthy of that pricetag since the iPhone doesn’t take SD cards… :)
