2nd Generation iPod touch Jailbreak delayed

The Dev Team announced on their blog, http://blog.iphone-dev.org, that they had made some progress on the 3G iPhone unlock, but “nothing worthy of a party”. They also revealed to their readers that they haven’t actually started working on the 2nd Generation iPod touch jailbreak, but they said that they will get around to it “in the near future”.

Here’s the section about the 2G iPod touch:

“We are not working on the iPod Touch 2G at the moment, we certainly have interest in this platform as we have mentioned before and we have done some preliminary analysis, but currently all eyes are still on the iPhone 3G, we hope to pick up work on the iPod Touch 2G sometime in the near future and when we have any updates relating to this we’ll blog about them here.”

You can read the complete post at http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/59953568/unmasking.

The 2G iPod touch is different from the 3G iPhone and the first iPod touch. There are hardware differences that make it a whole new project. It’s not just a small variation of the same old stuff…

All o’ you 2G iPod touch users who want to jailbreak will just have to sit and wait.

Thanks for all the hard work, Dev Team!
